Born in Spain and raised between Spain and France, near Switzerland, I developed a multidisciplinary background spanning audio engineering, physics and acoustics. Living and studying in different countries gave me the opportunity to work across a wide range of scientific and technical projects.
I graduated with an MSc in Environmental and Architectural Acoustics at London South Bank University (LSBU), where my final project focused on the use of Virtual Reality and binaural audio for the acoustic reconstruction of the Roman Theatre of Arles.
During my PhD at LSBU, in close collaboration with the Laboratory of Acoustics of the University of Le Mans (LAUM), I worked on ultra-thin acoustic metamaterials designed to control and diffuse sound.
My postdoctoral research at LAUM has since expanded towards wave propagation, room acoustics, biomedical ultrasound and interdisciplinary collaborations involving biology, mathematics and acoustics.
Design and study of subwavelength structures for controlling, absorbing and diffusing sound.
Acoustic treatments, sound diffusion and numerical approaches applied to rooms and performance spaces.
Physical and numerical investigation of acoustic wave propagation in complex and structured media.
Applications of acoustics and metamaterial concepts to areas such as biomedical ultrasound and biological systems.
Alongside my research activities, I am co-founder and treasurer of the Young Researchers in Acoustic Metamaterials (YRAM) association, a network supporting PhD candidates and Early Career Investigators working in acoustic and elastic metamaterials.
Since 2018, I have also been involved in the organisation of the Symposium on Acoustic Metamaterials (SAM), as well as training schools and international scientific collaborations.
